2020 reflection

2020 was a year of transition globally, locally and personally. The Covid-19 pandemic changed the way we live, particularly for Melbournian’s, as we were confined to the area surrounding our residential address for most of the year. During the second Melbourne lockdown I photographically recorded the sky and water across the bay on my daily walks. A focus on how weather and time effected the light, colour and textures of this outlook became an important cathartic ritual. The mass of water and vast sky is consistent, yet ever changing depending on the weather and time of day. This looking out offered an escape from, and a reflection of, our societies’ turbulent emotional state.
